WHO I AM
I am Clothilde Courtois, a seasoned freelance translator, proofreader and interpreter with over two decades of professional experience serving international clients across Europe and beyond.
Perfectly bilingual in English and French, and fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, I specialise in translating complex, high-stakes content where accuracy and nuance are critical.
CERTIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
I hold a Diploma in Translation (DipTransIoL) from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, supplemented by formal study in translation practices at City University London, a professional proofreading qualification, and a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) diploma from Trinity College London. My academic foundation includes communications and linguistics studies at the Sorbonne University, Paris.
Beyond translation, I bring significant project management and editorial experience, having worked as Picture and Content Editor for Reuters (covering Europe, the Middle East, and Asia), as well as extensive involvement in international event production, cultural communication, and cross-border media projects across Europe and North America. This multifaceted background enriches my understanding of context, audience, and industry-specific requirements.
